Test before specifying equipment
A comprehensive laboratory analysis is the starting point for well-water treatment. Different combinations of iron, manganese, hardness, pH, sulfur, sediment, and microorganisms can require very different systems.
Treatment order matters
Pre-filtration, oxidation, softening, carbon treatment, disinfection, and point-of-use polishing may need to be sequenced correctly. The exact design should follow the water chemistry and equipment requirements.
Check backwash requirements
Many media tanks need minimum flow rates for effective backwashing. Verify that the well pump and plumbing can support the manufacturer’s requirements.
Plan for retesting
Well conditions can change. Periodic testing helps verify whether treatment needs have changed and whether maintenance is keeping the system operating as intended.
