The hidden difference is water chemistry, not maintenance

FutureSoft can be operationally easier, but it is also more sensitive to feed-water chemistry. SpringWell publishes zero allowable iron, manganese, copper and hydrogen sulfide for the FS1 specification. A well-water buyer should not assume salt-free conditioning is plug-and-play.

The SS1 has a more traditional maintenance burden—salt, brine and regeneration—but it solves hardness at the ion level rather than only treating scale behavior.
